End of the Year

The end of this school year is coming up, I only have two days of classes left and four days of finals. Its nice but its also nerve wracking because that means I am going to be a junior next year and I just decided my major this year. The way classes are set up cause me not to know if I am going to graduate on time or not. I don't have difficulties with my classes or anything, in fact I do well in them but I just don't really know what to do. I really don't want to grow up but soon I don't think I will have a choice.
I don't want to be a college student forever but I also don't want to go into the world and get tied down right away. With collage expenses (loans, loans and more loans), there is no way that I can do anything other than get a job and pay them back. Then by the time I get out of that tie, I will probably have another one....marriage. Not that it is a bad thing but it definitely ties you down and then maybe kids and then there is no choice, all freedom is taken away. I don't want to be stuck, I want to see every part of the world that I can. America is only the land of dreams but that is all it comes too. Dreams.
I'm afraid that I am going to be forever stuck doing what every one else does and not really living. Whats the point of spending your life working. Why did I go to college, isn't it really just a trap of a pattern of what people say life is supposed to be and is there really any hope of escaping it.

Hyper connected

Previous generations didn't have the speed of the connection we have today. With every thing going faster people can do more to stay connected. Also you can stay connected with people across the world, they don't have to be demographicaly close and it doesn't cost as much to connect with them. Also what is different from previous generations is the age that you get connected. Today younger children are getting cell phones and there are even sites where little kids can talk to each other online.
Too much information would be knowing what someone was doing 24/7 and knowing exactly where they are at.
The positive aspects of being hyper-conected are that you can reach people and find out what they are doing easier. You usually don't have to wait hours for someone to get back to you and you can talk to more people at once.

Negatives of being hyper-connected, in my opinion, are that children are starting to use the technology at too young of an age, people don't pay attention to what is happening around them, and in extreme cases it can isolate.

Advice

How do you tell someone what they are doing is wrong. I don't want to be mean or sound stuck up to this person but that is what they would say if I said something. This person is my friend and I want to do something but I don't know how to bring up the subject. I know it should be discussed in private but should I tell this person's parents. How should I bring up the subject with them?

Christmas

I love Christmas and it is also my birthday. On top of that it is my eighteenth birthday, so I am really excited. Every year I have a birthday party with just two or three of my closest friends. It is also like a Christmas party. My friends give me a birthday/Christmas gift and I give them a Christmas gift.

Here is my Christmas dilemma. One of my friends is cheap, very cheap. I know that they don't have to get me a gift and all that but it kind of makes me mad. I put an effort into their gifts to put together what they would like and she doesn't. This person already told me that she was going to just get me a three dollar bath set from Walmart(which she is getting for everyone else). I know I should just be grateful for what I get and that Christmas is not just about the gifts but it just doesn't seem right. It is my eighteenth birthday.

Here is my question. Is it OK for me to give one friend more/better Christmas gifts then the other one. My point is that I am closer to this friend, she gives me better gifts, and she is just nicer too. I feel bad about it so should I just give them the same gifts or should I just give them the gifts i picked out for them and not say anything. I don't want to be rude but the one friend is more important then the other.
